Remarks: Koteswara Rao has been a resident of the Maranatha Ashram since
March 2002. He stayed with his sons and their families for five years before
deciding that he needed to find an alternative solution. He was unhappy and
uncomfortable. He learned about the ministry of Maranatha Ashram and sought
a place for himself in this shelter for aged. He became a resident in 2002.
He is comfortably situated in the Ashram where he receives housing, food,
clothing, and medical attention. He enjoys the comrade of the other men. The
tenderness and compassion that the ministerial staff have for him is one of
his main consolations. Every resident of the Ashram has the opportunity to
attend all of the church services as a bus travels to and from the Church to
provide transportation. He took water baptism on 15th August 2003. Maranatha
Bible College students spend time with the residents every evening in
fellowship and conducting Bible studies. Scripture in James 1:27 states that
pure and undefiled religion is the care of widows and orphans--Thank you and

NAME: Saralamma Singanamalla

AGE: 62 years
SEX: Female
FAMILY: Husband four daughters and one son alive.
Remarks: Saralamma has four daughters and a son. She has some fixed
assets and so her husband married Saralamma, even though she is not
handsome. After many years of marriage her husband took hold of all the
assets and deserted Saralamma for another woman. He also developed hatred
towards her since he was having illicit relationship with that woman. He
chased his wife away from home and got married with that second lady. Even
the children deserted her mother for the sake of material things and went to
their father. In this condition she has no other option, but seeks shelter
in Maranatha Ashram.
She is comfortably situated in the Ashram where she receives housing,
food, clothing, and medical attention. She enjoys watching TV, reading the
newspaper and the companionship of the other women. Every resident of the
Ashram has the opportunity to attend all of the church services as a bus
travels to and from the Church to provide transportation. She took water

AGE: 61 Years

FAMILY: Husband's location unknown, No children
Remarks: After her wedding, she and her husband lived together for only
three months before he abandoned her. She was forced to seek employment
wherever she could find it. She became a servant maid in her maternal aunt's
home and worked in that capacity for many years. All those years, she
struggled from the mental anguish of being abandoned that her sister who is
a member of the local Maranatha congregation finally insisted her to join
Maranatha Ashram. She has been a resident since 2001.
She is comfortably situated in the Ashram where she receives housing, food,
clothing, and medical attention. She enjoys watching TV, reading the
newspaper and the companionship of the other women. She takes medication to
calm her nerves and to relieve mental stress. The tenderness and compassion
that the ministerial staff have for her is the main source of consolations.
Every resident of the Ashram has the opportunity to attend all of the church

AGE: 72 Years

Remarks: Veera Raju has been a resident of the Maranatha Ashram since
August 2002. When Veera Raju became too weak to properly care for himself
and his wife, his second son became their caretaker. Unfortunately, because
of his son's meager income he could not afford to care for both parents. And
their other sons were also unable to help in any way. Through a friend they
learned of the ministry of the Maranatha Ashram and the family felt that it
would be better to place Veera Raju in this residence for proper care and
rest.
He is comfortably situated in the Ashram where he receives housing, food,
clothing, and medical attention. He enjoys the comrade of the other men and
also enjoys helping in the garden. The tenderness and compassion that the
ministerial staff have for him is one of his main consolations. Every
resident of the Ashram has the opportunity to attend all of the church
services as a bus travels to and from the Church to provide transportation.
