Swarna is one of the three children. She has two elder brothers. Swarna parent’s
marriage was arranged by elders. Her father worked as an employee in a small
private company with a meager income. Later he had a calling from God and
committed his life to serve the people. He went to a Bible college for training
and after completion of the course, the man started ministry independently. He
did not have any sort of financial support from any denomination. After Swarna
was born, her mother suffered severally with Nervous weakness followed by hypo
tension and anemia. She was unable to do regular duties and fulfill
responsibilities to the children. She was subjected to electrical treatments,
but was not able to recover and finally succumbed to weakness in June 2008. The
family lost the caring hand and the father became lonely with his three
children. They also suffered financially. The elder boy was placed with his
grandparents and the burden of supporting the other two kids became burdensome
to the father as he is staying in the ministry.
The man came to know about Maranatha Children Home at Vijayawada in a gospel
meeting and came forward and explained his situation about his family. He was
expecting admission for Swarna and seeing his pathetic condition, the girl was
given admission. Swarna is
happy here as she is enjoying the fellowship of other Children like her. He is
being taught the discipline and moral values of life. Love and care are shown to
her in an environment that is conducive to his physical, mental and spiritual
growth. May God richly bless your
generosity in helping this needy girl.

Remarks -
Harish is one of the two children. He has one younger sister. Both the children
are born out of the love marriage of their parents. This marriage was not liked
by either of the grand parent’s of the children. The couple stayed in harmony in
spite of the dislike by their in-laws. The man made his living by working as a
truck driver with a small pay. Due to financial
implication, the wife also joined in a small savings scheme offered by ladies
community. She needs to pay monthly
scheme amount without any pending according to their rules. After 3 to 4 months
of joining in the scheme, she failed to keep her commitment to the scheme and
this led to big amount in pending. The scheme people demanded for money and
her husband did not know about this until they come to the house. The man did
not know anything about this issue. They both started to quarrel each other for
this reason and for the pending payment. The woman felt angry, guilty and
insecure in this situation and committed suicide by taking Pesticide.
The kids became Orphan and the father became scared about this situation and
deserted both the kids and left to an unknown destination. Both the children are
now destitute and their grandparents did not come forward to their rescue. One
of the relative had taken both the children to their home. She was searching for
an alternative shelter to join Harish and his sister and heard about Maranatha
Children Home at Vijayawada through her friend. She approached us and explained
the sad story about the children. Upon seeing the pathetic condition, we took
Harish and his sister into the home. Harish is now happy as he is having three
meals a day, clothing, shelter and education. He is growing in an environment
that is conducive to his physical, mental and spiritual growth.

Remarks – Raga
Raju is one of the
three children. He has two elder sisters. His father supports the family by
working as a farm laborer and the meager income coming from the hard work is
insufficient to meet the physical needs of all the children. The couple lived
happily for a few years and in the course of time the man developed an extra
marital affair with another woman. He deserted the family for that woman. His
wife was mentally shocked for his behavior and started searching
everywhere for her Husband even during nights. Years passed away in pursuance of
her life partner. In the meantime her daughters have grown up into young girls.
The elder daughter’s marriage was performed with the help of village people. The
woman became mentally retarded and the local village people helped her to come
back to home instead of wandering. During this situation, the mentally retarded
woman was deceived by someone and got pregnancy and finally gave birth to Raga Raju.
As the woman was unable to take care of this newborn baby, the younger sister
started to care for him. Later the relatives and village people performed the
second daughter’s marriage.
Immediately after
the marriage, the family came to know about the murder of the woman. After the
dead body was recovered from a school bathroom, elder people in the village
contributed some money for the funeral of Raga Raju’s mother. Now Raga
Raju is total orphan. After he lost his mother, the sister and
brother-in-law started to care for him. One day, Raga Raju’s father came
back to his house and was surprised to see the boy and objected the child, as he
is not from his blood and threatened to kill him. The boy’s brother in-law also
started objecting and asked his wife either to kill the boy or else depart from
the house along with him. She decided to come out of the house for the sake of
this little boy and started working as a maidservant in some houses of
believer’s from the fellowship of Maranatha. These believers came to know about
her problems and informed the Pastor of their church. The Pastor understood
their need and advised them to join Raga Raju in Maranatha Children Home
at Hyderabad, which cares to the needs of orphan children. Seeing upon the
pathetic condition, the boy was granted admission. Raga Raju is now happy
in this home as he is going to school along with other kids and is having three

Remarks:
Chaitanya’s father earned his livelihood by farming. His mother was sick with
tumor in her stomach. She neglected her health without taking any treatment.
So, she expired in February 2004. After his mother’s death his father was
addicted to alcoholism and later he was affected with jaundice. Because of his
sickness he didn’t take care of his children. He did not take the right
treatment for his sickness and did not stop drinking. He suffered for few months
and then expired in April 2005.
Chaitanya and his
brother were with his grandparents till his father’s death. Then they were taken
to their uncle’s house who is a truck driver. His income did not permit him to
take care of these boys along with his family. By seeing his struggle one of his
neighbors advised him to join the older boy, Chaitanya, into the Children Home.
Later he approached us and explained the condition of Chaitanya. We took
Chaitanya into our Home in 2008 and joined him in 4th class. He has a younger
